HOKA says it is designed for runners who need enhanced grip on loose soil and reliable stability when the trail gets rough.
The shoe uses a double layer jacquard engineered mesh upper to create a secure but breathable fit, while the reinforced heel collar and gusseted tongue help keep the foot locked in.
Underfoot, the shoe combines a cushioned CMEVA midsole with HOKA’s MetaRocker geometry so transitions feel smoother and more efficient across varied terrain.
The Vibram Megagrip outsole with Traction Lug lugs is one of its biggest strengths, giving the shoe dependable bite on wet rock, dirt, and loose trail surfaces.
CMEVA midsole: Compression-molded EVA foam runs through the midsole to provide soft, protective cushioning with a stable and durable feel for trail use.
Late stage MetaRocker: HOKA’s rockered sole geometry helps create a smoother heel-to-toe transition and supports a more efficient push-off on uneven trails.
Vibram Megagrip outsole: Sticky Vibram Megagrip rubber is used for high-level traction on both dry and wet terrain, making the shoe especially dependable in technical conditions.
Traction Lug technology: The lugs are shaped to increase surface area and improve purchase on loose soil, rock, and mud.
Double layer jacquard mesh upper: The upper is built from a durable, breathable double layer mesh that balances airflow with trail protection and structure.
Gusseted tongue: A gusseted tongue helps keep debris out and improves midfoot lockdown so the shoe feels more secure on technical trails.
Protective toe cap: The forefoot includes a protective toe cap to guard against rocks and trail impacts.
